
Installation & Upgrade Engineer (Healthcare systems: PACS and AWS)
International medical devices manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Installation & Upgrade (I&U) Engineer to join the team, specializing in the deployment and upgrade of PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems) and AWS (Advanced Visualization Server) for healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform installation, configuration, and upgrades of PACS and AWS at customer sites and remotely.
- Collaborate with project teams, customers, and third-party vendors to ensure successful system deployment.
- Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization before go-live.
- Provide on-site and remote support for system go-lives and post-installation validation.
- Work closely with IT teams to integrate systems within hospital environments, ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure.
- Document installation processes, configurations, and issues, ensuring knowledge sharing within the team.
- Train end-users and IT staff on system operation and best practices.
- Provide ongoing technical support and assist in diagnosing and resolving system issues.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong knowledge of healthcare IT systems, particularly PACS, RIS and Cardiology imaging solutions.
- Experience with Windows Server administration (installation, configuration, Active Directory, Group Policy, and security settings).
- Understanding of DICOM, HL7, and FHIR protocols for medical imaging and interoperability.
- Proficiency in SQL databases (querying, backup/restoration, performance tuning).
- Experience with networking concepts (TCP/IP, VPNs, Firewalls, VLANs, and troubleshooting connectivity issues).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex system issues.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
- Experience working with hospital IT departments and understanding of clinical workflows.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites as required (estimated 50% travel, but this may vary based on business and customer needs).
- Full driving license
- Eligibility to work in the country of employment.
- Native Russian speaking and advanced English.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with cloud-based solutions.
- Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) for automation.
- IT certifications such as Microsoft, VMware, or networking-related qualifications.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or medical imaging environment.
