Project manager
This position will support CIS cross functional project teams in Commercialization, Launch, and Post Launch Phases to ensure project schedule, cost, capital, quality, and customer service objectives are met for regional and global projects. This position will assist in managing multiple, simultaneous projects, typically with simple supply chains (i.e. – one key manufacturing site per project to domestic and export sourcing).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead projects through the Commercialization, Launch, and Post Launch Phases. Develop timelines, key milestones, and risk and mitigation plans
- Execute detailed project schedule to meet launch commitments which defined in project scopes
- Support risk identification/mitigation plans to achieve project objectives
- Lead and Manage projects according to Company processes and best practices
- Align and communicate projects milestones with the project team and escalate any challenges to the right forums
- Collaborate with multifunctional core teams (RD&E, Design, Marketing, Marketing Research, and Product Supply) to successfully identify, develop and launch new products in an accelerated manner.
Functional Skills and Expertise:
- Experience in Project Management in manufacturing or purchasing/planning/distribution
- Strong technical expertise and working knowledge of multiple projects of different strategic intents i.e. growth, cost savings, business continuity, etc.
- Experience and technical competency in building the timelines of projects
- Technical curiosity to investigate the source of issues & opportunities, while providing creative ideas, quality of work, and speed through a results-oriented approach.
- Utilize available resources (patent literature, suppliers, etc.) to identify internal & external technologies, including their limits of use, and assess which ones apply to scope of work or brand migration strategy.
- Ability to define and build alignment from technical stakeholders around an effective research plan.
- Write and review lab test procedures, scale-up protocols, and specifications needed to support product development activities.
- Product Management systems experience (i.e. SAP Product Lifecycle Management)
Leadership:
- Strong leadership, influence, and cross-functional teaming skills to effectively work across internal organizational boundaries.
- Strong oral & written communication skills, with ability to deliver a concise message across levels within the organization.
- Demonstrated knowledge of consumer testing techniques and execution of appropriate studies to evaluate product performance.
- Ability to lead technical work ranging from individual research initiatives to more complex projects, serving as the RDE Technical Lead when called upon to manage multiple project work-streams.
Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- Bachelor of Science or a related engineering field, with 2 plus years of project management development experience or an advanced degree with one plus years of Project management
Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of product development process and experience related to various delivery system technologies is considered a plus (e.g., aerosols, rigid plastics, flexible films, blister packs, paperboard cartons, etc.)
- Demonstrated capability to handle multiple projects/programs concurrently
- Experience with directing the efforts of external vendors and consultants is preferred.
