Commissioning Mechanical Specialist
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinates with the Commissioning Mechanical Lead in developing and implementing an overall mechanical commissioning plan for the equipment under his responsibility.
- Supervise the pre-commissioning activities for mechanical equipment oil flushing, final alignments of rotating equipment, loading & final closure of stationary equipment within his area of responsibility, and repair and refurbishment of mechanical equipment during commissioning and operations as required.
- Responsible for the supervision of mechanical technicians and the activities related to the smooth commissioning, testing, and functioning of all plant mechanical systems.
- Coordinates with the Commissioning team the testing programs for mechanical equipment and systems under his responsibility.
- Provides input to the development of Pre-commissioning and Commissioning procedures.
- Supervise the troubleshooting of equipment as required.
- Assists in the start-up, operation and monitoring of systems during performance testing of the facility as required.
- Participates in the Completion walk downs, punch-list development and clearing of punch-list items by the Construction group or the subcontractor.
- Works closely with the Construction group for mechanical completion inspections and accepting the completed systems as deemed ready for pre-commissioning.
- Coordinate the vendor’s activities on the mechanical packages.
- Supervise the quality of all work performed in the mechanical team.
- Redlining as-built drawings for pre-commissioning and commissioning works compliance with mechanical.
Basic Qualifications:
- Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the refinery or oil and gas industry.
- Have over 3 years’ experience for pre-commissioning and commissioning to the Companies that specialize in these jobs
- Commissioning and start-up experience on major Refinery projects particularly Delayed Coker Units.
- Knowledgeable of the SP, GOST, Regulatory Documentation and Industrial Safety regulations to support the Project through the commissioning and start-up phase.
